A Minimalistic Jause

Eaten:“Grinzinger Weinhauerjause”, 2 glasses of wine (Riesling), a small espresso, a shot of Marillenschnapps

Lots of cold Schweinsbraten, some fatty Speck, a few slices of a Salami sausage and a slice of a tasteless soft cheese can barely make a good Brettljause. And let’s face it, they do not. A couple of tiny pickled cucumbers can add a small percentage to the score, as can surprisingly fresh bread. The horseradish is good, too. The wine is fine, the coffee is unexpectedly drinkable, even the mustard is OK, though there is too much of it. But there is just not enough to be excited about.

Strangely enough, it’s a much less touristic place than can be expected so close to the center of Grinzing (unless it’s a Monday effect), but this does not mean it is good. Ignore it if you can.
