Figls is a great safety net restaurant, when one is unable or too lazy to search for anything special. It’s always open, nearly always has a table (despite being quite popular), very seldom disappoints, and even when it does, not to such an extent as to prevent you from returning in a month or so. It very seldom surprises by exceptional dishes, but is generally very reliable at providing filling and satisfying stuff.
This goose, being the first of the season, was no exception. It exactly matches what one expects from a goose providing one’s expectations remain absolutely average. Expect something slightly over the mean, such as crunchy rather than fat skin, and you may get disappointed. Avoid paying attention to such details, and you will leave satiated and passably happy.
