Okay, it’s a pretty basic Brettljause. Four slices of Speck, four slices of Schweinsbraten, some Blunzen, cheese and a yellowish spread of unclear origin are not much. On a positive side, the slices were slightly thicker than elsewhere, giving support to my theory that they were cut off a bigger piece rather than bought already cut at a supermarket. Mustard, horseradish, and a salty cucumber were to be expected, but a hard-boiled egg was a very welcome addition. No Brettljause should be called complete without one! Finally, the wasps were a huge nuisance, one even drowning in my beer, but the friendly waiter/owner was so brilliant at killing one with a whack of a hand, noticing only later that he nearly demolished my electronic book reader in the process, that it made the prior suffering worthwhile. And it’s a really nice place to sit and enjoy beer and nature.
