Click on the hyperlink above and you will be given a choice between the webpages of a restaurant or a furniture shop. I might be wrong, but I think that does not create a good advertisement for either of them. Neither does the “golden” logo, which reads more like “Trend” than “Treno” and would have been more appropriate for a casino.

A countryside pizzeria with a few additional dishes including fish, Treno must be a meeting point for the locals during the week, but at lunchtime on Saturday, it was suspiciously empty. Despite the lack of clients (or perhaps because of that), the waiter was not in a great hurry, and the service could be politely described as leisurely. Two types of spare ribs were offered, obviously different by the toppings and the dips only.

The “Mexican style” ribs that I took were very spicy for as long as some of the topping reached my mouth together with the meat. The chilies made the dish, really, for whenever they were absent, the meat tasted of plain old pork. If the topping was not enough, however, a rather fiery sauce provided an additional kick, while the white creamy garlic sauce was helpful to somewhat reduce the intensity of the taste.

Orth an der Donau is known for a couple of restaurants including the famous Uferhaus next to the Danube, which may not serve top-notch food, but have much more pleasant surroundings than Treno. Treno offers you a view over a field, and if you notice a deer crossing it, it will become the highlight of your visit. Food-wise, the restaurant is unexciting.
